Il est décédé dans son sommeil en République dominicaine, où il tournait le film « Dangerous Waters », rapporte le média spécialisé Deadline.
Il s’est d’abord fait connaître à l’écran en 1986 avec « Dangerous in All Reports », qui lui a valu une nomination aux Golden Globes du meilleur acteur dans un second rôle, rapporte l’AFP. Sa carrière explose ensuite en 1990 avec le film mythique de Martin Scorsese où il joue aux côtés de Robert De Niro et Joe Pesci.
